Health Benefits Of Sauna

Sauna (a finnish word) means a room in which water is splashed on the hot rocks to produce steam (With evolving technology, sauna setup also has witnessed tremendous changes. Many new techniques are being developed and utilized to build new saunas and to control the temperature inside). This steam is then used for its medical benefits in the form of Sauna bath. The temperature at which sauna bath should be taken is controlled by the participants.

Sauna bath opens the pores on skin and helps body to remove toxins and other impurities from within the body and blood. Sauna’s effect on human body shows unpredictable heart condition as the heart beats/pulse rate increases to almost double, causing blood circulation in the body increase towards the skin. In some people the blood pressure goes up and in some people it falls. However, a study carried out on health benefits of sauna by various health case institutes and magazines have stated that the sauna bath is safe for human health and does offer health benefits such as relaxation, weight loss and many more.

Sauna Health benefits
Sauna bath causes sweating & helps in opening skin pores. As we sweat more during sauna bath, it helps in excretion of body toxins and other impurities from the blood. People experience freshness in mood and health for longer time once they take sauna bath, as the body gets cleansed through sweating and muscles are relieved leading to the feeling of well-being. Sauna bath is also useful in joint pains as the warm steam helps blood flow resume effectively in all parts of the body and the contracted muscles are relieved.

It's effectiveness in weight loss has been main reason people choose sauna bath over any other type of exercise. Sauna works positively on our metabolism and increases its speed and intensity, which in turn results in weight loss.

Regular sauna bath can also help mental and physical relaxation and release tension. People with sleep disorders such as insomnia and improper sleep condition can be benefited through sauna as it is very effective in inducing a good long relaxing sleep.

The heat generated during sauna bath helps our body in improving our immune system by increasing our body heat which simulates the fever condition. We also know about the medical properties of steam, which proves to be of great help in treating problems like cold (sinusitis), bronchitis, laryngitis etc.

15-20 minutes of sauna is almost equivalent to 1-2 hours of brisk walk or 1 hour of exercise. However, this effect can vary from person to person based on their physical condition.

For many people, sauna does not offer significant health benefits in that case sauna can serve a purpose of leisure for them and not more than just a daily relaxation process and a way to preserve the glow on their face.

Caution
Pregnant women, heart patient with low or high blood pressure condition or suffering from any disease which has negative effect of sauna bath should first consult a physician regarding their physical condition and the length of period they can take sauna bath. 4 Benefits of a Massage

If I were to tell you some of the most bizarre massage stories as if they were fact, you probably wouldn't believe a single word of it. But in fact, massage can help you in a variety of ways that can enhance your life.

Most people are unfamiliar with the benefits of massage so let's break a few of them down.

1. Muscle tension - Most people have tensed up muscles from injuries, stress, or just everyday work. Massaging the tensed muscles gives them a bit of a stretch. After the massage is completely you will feel the weight of the tension released.

2. Improves circulation - By pressing and massaging the muscles, you are also displacing blood temporarily. When released, more blood seeps back in to that spot. This action over and over again has been shown to stagnant blood moving again.

3. Promotes healing - This falls in line with blood circulation. The better circulation you have at an injury, the more it helps remove toxins and other damaged cells. This promotes the healing process to happen much faster. But this doesn't mean you should massage a broken leg or swollen ankle. You should leave this up to the professionals to decide.

4. Relaxation - A massage can leave you feeling relaxed at the end of it, and for some, during the massage. While you are in a relaxed state your body functions better and your mind is able to think clearer. Sometimes I wonder why we don't have massages every day.

Massages aren't just for women or for the rich and famous. They are for anyone who wants to feel good and improve their body's state.

Bvlgari Serpenti Jewelry Collection

Bvlgari is known, in the long history of jewelry, as maybe the first brand who reintroduced the serpent motif in the 20th century, adapting it into a wristwatch. Since 1949, the year when the first model of the snake-shaped bracelet-watch was brought to life, Bvlgari reinterpreted this specific symbol into many artistic designs.
Bvlgari presented a new collection of one of their bold icons, the snake, called ''Serpenti''. This new collection is all about a variety of forms, decorated with precious stones like diamonds, pink coral, jade, as well as onyx, with bracelets manufactured from precious metals, like 18k white and rose gold. The Serpenti collection deeply reflects Bvlgari's style and tradition in combining modern or contemporary elements with their famous classic vision.
Bvlgari Serpenti anniversary jewelry collection includes five different watches, all in pink or white gold. These specific models come both in double or single coin, with plenty of elegant decorations, like colored gemstones, or diamonds, these timeless accessories. An extreme attention to details has made possible that the snake's skin can be beautifully and very artistically reproduced.
Every detail in these watches is carefully considered and is a piece of art itself. Imagine a snake inserted into a watch, individual component which simulate the creature's scales, the head, the tale and the body, all made from precious metals and stones. This is certainly more of a jewelry collection than a watch one, so if you're into fine jewelry collection, don't hesitate and choose Bvlgari's Serpenti anniversary jewelry collection.

Balenciaga Spring 2010 Shoes

If you're a Nicholas Ghesquiere and Balenciaga, most likely that the spring 2010 show must have conquered you by now. The outfits were exquisite, including leather trousers, kilts inspired by sportswear, garments, recycled fabrics artistically combined with natural ones, tribal influences and a great attention to detail. And this attention is the key-element that also concerns shoes.
''Like Play-Doh,'' this is how Ghesquiere sees the shoe collection for this line. And the truth is that the shoes are gorgeous! Everything, starting with the fabrics used, to the graphically designed heels, it all screams ''must have''! It's an extreme collection if shoes, but with many common points and with plenty of attitude, so let's be more specific.
Balenciaga's spring 2010 shoes are definitely something: peep toe boots, with stripped hand-knitted fabric that makes its way up to the knee, in various colors. The mid length ankle boots were all over the runway for this collection and the result was pretty much clear for all of us: either love them or hate them.
The truth is we loved them, first of all due to Ghesquiere's historical genius, and, second, because they were something else. The mix of fabrics, the nudity of the fingers in high contrast with the loomed fabric – it all screamed ''urban'' and ''chic''.
Chromatically speaking, almost every important color in the collection was taken and reinterpreted in the shoes: blue, white, green, natural colors, combined with strips of leather, which emphasized even more that urban look, almost warrior-like.

Tall Is Beautiful

Tall models are the most appreciated in the fashion and glamor world, and their tall height, may at times be the main reason for their successful position. Despite this, any ordinary woman, who is not in the glamour world, becomes overly conscious when she grows taller than the average height of women around her.

Tall women often become terrifically shy and do weird things to cut down their height visually, like walking with a stoop or wearing clothes which can minimize their longer arms and legs. And in that nasty run to look a little less tall, they ruin their complete personality.

Anyways, if you're tall you must feel glad about it because there are millions and millions of petite frames around the world who are willing to do absolutely anything to gain an inch or two. Be proud of your tall stature, and stop slouching or looking for other ways to look less tall. Look at Hollywood, look at Parisian fashion or just about anywhere, you'll find the sexiest of women are fairly tall.

Unlike most fashion maestros, who always believe in using fashion to look the opposite of what you are, I would suggest instead of playing down on your tall height try playing it up. So, whoever tells you to stick to flat footwear and avoid high heels, just don't give them an ear. A tall height is a positive attribute, and like most women love to flaunt their shapely and sexy legs you must learn to flaunt your high instead of downplaying it.

Tall women usually have fabulous legs, and using some heels will help in drawing attention to your legs, while at the same time they will help you to improve your walking posture. If you're convinced that tall as beautiful, then use the right clothing, such as vertical stripes, fitted blouses, straight cuts skirts and knee-high heeled boots, to play up your height.

And lastly, if you're worried about dating shorter men, then the simple way out is don't go in for short men, because there are lots and lots of tall men, out there, looking for tall women to make a perfect pair. But if you really have a soft corner for some short guy, then just leave your inhibitions aside and enjoy being with him, because if the both of you are passionate about each other, height doesn't have much of a role to play in your relationship.

Bridal Beauty and Skin Care

Every woman wants to look gorgeous and beautiful on her wedding day. She wants her skin to glow with radiance and glamour. She wants to look her best and to shine like a bright star. Well if you want your skin to glow and to have a very soft and delicate skin you will have to follow this regime atleast a month before your wedding day.

First and foremost you need to know your skin type in order to soothe and nourish your skin for a healthful and radiant complexion.

SKIN TYPES

Oily Skin
Oily skin is caused by over-active glands, which produce a substance called Asebum, a naturally healthy skin lubricant. When the skin produces too much sebum, it becomes thick and heavy in texture. Oily skin is characterized by shininess, pimples and blemishes. Frequent steam cleaning and exfoliation can help reduce these symptoms.

Dry Skin
Dry skin usually results when skin fails to produce enough sebum to maintain a naturally lubricated surface. This lack of oil in the skin is often hereditary, but can also be caused by over-exposure to the sun and other environmental elements. Dry skin often appears coarse, tight, dull and flaky, with visible lines and wrinkles. Massage with essential and cold pressed oils can stimulate metabolism and alleviate dry skin conditions.

Normal Skin
Normal skin produces a healthy amount of sebum, and tends to be neither dry nor oily in feel. It needs proper cleansing and massage.

Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin reacts unfavourably to a variety of chemicals and environmental factors. Increased exposure to sun, wind and cold, as well as to harsh cosmetic ingredients, tend to toughen skin over time.

Combination Skin
Many people have different skin types on different parts of the face. For example, it is not uncommon for a person to have oily skin around the nose, forehead and chin, while the rest of the face is more on the dry side. If you have more than one skin type on your face, it is wise to use products containing different ingredients to treat the areas differently.

YOUR STEP BY STEP AT-HOME FACIAL

A basic facial must include at least 3 elements: (1) cleansing; (2) toning; and (3) moisturising. Additional steps might include steaming, exfoliating and masking. Each of these steps is outlined below.

Step 1
Before cleansing your skin with a gentle cleanser, it is wise to give yourself a light steam treatment to open your pores and prepare your face for cleaning. To do this, simply soak a soft towel in a bowl of comfortably warm herbal tea (chamomile is one of my favorites). Wring out the towel and place it over your face and neck area and relax until it cools slightly. You may repeat this process, as it is quite soothing.

Step 2
Cleanse your face with a good Cleanser. Use upward, circular movements of the fingertips to gently stimulate the skin and help lift surface debris and excess oil. Rinse with warm water and gently pat excess moisture from face with a soft towel. If you wear heavy make-up, you might wish to repeat the cleansing process.

Step 3
After cleansing, it is important to tone the skin using ingredients that help balance the pH of the skin, which is typically disturbed during the cleansing process. Apply the toner with a soft cotton pad, but do not rub the skin. Rather, saturate the pad and pat the toner over the face and neck area. Do not pat skin dry. Avoid eye area when using this toner. You skin is now ready for moisturising.

Step 4
Moisturise your skin using Aromatic Facial Oil, which contains a host of soothing ingredients to add moisture and nutrients to your skin. To seal in the moisture, be sure to apply the oil while skin remains damp from applying the toner. Gently apply the oil to your face and neck using patting motions. For oily areas of skin, one application of oil should suffice. Apply twice to dry areas of skin, waiting about 2-3 minutes between applications, and being sure to moisten the skin slightly with water or toner before the second application.

Step 5
Finally, if you want you can finish off with a gentle exfoliation and mask to your treatment. Persons with oily skin may

10 easy Tips for jewellery care

1. Avoid, keeping all your jewellery alltogether in a single box, as hard stones like diamond can give scratches to all other delicate jewellery. Instead wrap each peice of jewellery seperately. Get a jewelry box and/or wrap each piece of jewelry with paper, velvet or silk.

2. Try not to throw, the original box of the jewellery because jewellery is always very safe in it as the box is specially made for particular jewellery.

3. Try to keep the jewellery back in the box recently after use . It definately increases the life of and shine of your stuff.
Little care can give you more

4. Avoid wearing your precious jewellery while you are swimming as the chlorine in the water will discolor your jewellery especially silver. Also while gardening, washing dishes, laundry we should avoid jewellery etc.

5. After every six or seven months jewellery should be cleaned with mild soapy water and soft used brush. Before cleaning jewelry make sure the stones are not loose as while, cleaning you don't want them coming out.

6. Ultrasonic cleaners are not recommended as the vibrations they make can enlarge inclusions and make them more noticeable.

7. To help prevent damage to your jewelry, don't put them on until you have your makeup, hairspray, perfume or anything else on. The stuff that is in these products could harm your jewelry. Put bracelets on your opposite hand if your right or left handed. Less wear may occur because it's not the main hand used.

8. Dont trust anyone new for the cleaning of your jewellery always do it from any well known shop or person. If shipping your jewelry to be cleaned or repaired use a shipper that has tracking and get it insured.

9. Always take the picture of your jewellery before giving it for any cleaning, as you can claim the concerned person in case of damage or chipping.

10. Pricing for cleaning will vary by type of jewelry and the place you take it too. If you recently bought jewelry from a store they might clean and inspect it for free on an annual basis or something like that. So, always check for this option.

Smart self defense tips for women

What should a woman do if a knife wielding man demands her mobile phone when she is alone? Surprise him by offering it to him. Or fling it as far as away. As he runs for the phone, you run in the opposite direction.

Remember you can buy another phone. But you have only one life to live.

Common sense is a powerful weapon that can fell any opponent. It helps you to come out of potentially dangerous arenas without a fight.

Unfortunately, this lesson is not imparted to most women in India. Naturally few use it when they are faced with piquant situations.

What should a woman do if she finds herself alone in the company of a strange male as she prepares to enter a lift in a high-rise apartment late at night?

There is nothing to fear.

Enter the lift. If you need to reach the 13th floor, press all the buttons up to your destination. No one will dare attack you in a lift that stops on every floor. Simple.

The examples are endless.

Most women I have met in my 30 years as a trainer in self-defence techniques harbour the illusion that one needs to be powerfully built to take on a male aggressor.

Many also feel that without knowing judo or karate, they can be easy victims to lecherous men.

Nothing can be farther from the truth.

In Bangalore and in several other cities, my team holds workshops to explain in detail to women how they can come under attack in the most unexpected circumstances.

So it is good to learn and understand simple but effective self-defence methods. These need not be based on a rigid set of rules.

Rather, your safety lies in your habits, attitudes and activities. It is also learning what handy tools you can convert into powerful weapons for your protection.

How to stay safe while traveling in a cab or a vehicle? How to use every inch of your body to develop devastating power? How to address real street situations? How to protect yourself from a much stronger attacker?

One can learn all this in a matter of hours.

If a stranger tries to attack you when you are alone in your house, run into the kitchen.

You alone know where the chili power and turmeric are kept. And where the knives and plates are. All these can be turned into deadly weapons.

If nothing else, start throwing plates and utensils all over. Let them break. Scream. Remember that noise is the greatest enemy of a molester. He does not want to be caught.

Before getting into an auto at night, note down its registration number. Then use the mobile to call your family or friend and pass on the details to them in the language the driver understands.

Even if no one answers your call, pretend you are in a conversation.

The driver now knows someone has his details and he will be in serious trouble if anything goes wrong. He is now bound to take you home safe and sound. A potential attacker is now your de facto protector!

What if the driver turns into a street he is not supposed to - and you feel you are entering a danger zone?

Use the handle of your purse or your stole (dupatta) to wrap around his neck and pull him back. Within seconds, he will feel choked and helpless.

What if you don't have a purse or a stole? Just pull him back by his collar. The top button of his shirt would then do the same trick.

If you are stalked at night, enter a shop or a house and explain your predicament. If it is night and shops are not open, go inside an ATM box.

ATM centres always have security guards. They are also monitored by close circuit television. Fearing identification, no one will dare attack you.

What is important is to stay cool at all times. When you have spare time, think of everyday situations where you can be in trouble. And how you can save yourself.

After all, being mentally alert is the greatest weapon you can ever have.

9 ways to meet 'Mr Right'

If hitting all the so-called single spots isn’t helping you find your dream match, rethink your routine with some out-of-the-box guy-meeting tactics.

1. Find your friends’ friends : Combine your love of online shopping with the best way to meet eligible men —through friends, recommends Rachel Greenwald, author of Why He Didn't Call You Back:1,000 Guys Reveal What They REALLY Thought About You After Your Date. Scroll through your friends’ friends on social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook and play a game Greenwald calls, “I Spy a Cute Guy.” Find someone intriguing who’s also single (check with your mutual friend if his profile is private)? Ask to be introduced. “Because Facebook isn’t an official online dating site, the pressure is off,” she says. “You can get to know each other first as friends and go from there.”

2. Brush up on current affairs : It’s a good idea to make info-gathering an everyday part of your life—and not to impress guys (even though it’s a fact that they like smart, well informed babes), but for your own IQ and confidence. Make news channels like Times Now, CNN or BBC your Internet home page, subscribe to political and news magazine that gives you each week’s news stories. You’ll be able to strike up a conversation in no time.

3. Twitter for love : Everyone seems to have been bitten by the Twitter bug. Now use Twitter for more than getting the lowdown of your friends’ lives. Send a tweet on Friday afternoon that you’re meeting friends at your favorite watering hole for an impromptu happy hour. Tell your followers to bring their friends. You’re bound to meet new people, and even if they’re not single, they might know someone to fix you up with later.”

4. Go Solo : It can feel odd to watch a movie by yourself or sit solo at a coffee shop, but many happily attached women know that spending some time by yourself is a surefire way to meet someone great, says Karrine Steffans, author of The Vixen Manual. So chill at a Barista with your laptop and a latte, take your dog for a long walk or treat yourself to lunch at an outdoor café—solo!

5. Say Yes More Often : It can be tempting to cancel on a party invite if you’re feeling pooped or dying to catch the new episode of your favourite show, but accepting an invite or two each month that you’d otherwise turn down can give your love life a life, says Brenda Della Casa, author of Cinderella Was A liar: The Real Reason You Cannot Find (Or Keep) A Prince. Asked out by a guy who doesn’t fit your dream definition? Just say yes!

6. Recycle the single guys you know : Everyone knows interesting guys who aren’t right for them (think your single best male pal, coworker or a former date who’s now just a friend) but who might be right for someone else. Go ahead and guy-cycle. Organise a low-key get-together and recycle those 'great-but-not-for-you' guys by inviting single women to the party. Set a one-single-guy minimum, encouraging female guests to bring at least one guy they’d recommend to other girls. Then watch the sparks fly!

7. Get sweaty: Local sports clubs let you get in shape by playing softball, swimming, karate, tennis or any other sport you enjoy, and they’re full of athletic, fun-loving guys.

8. Learn how his stomach thinks : The best place to meet guys is at a busy restaurant at lunch. So head out more often for that lunch break at a popular eatery as there is always a line of cute guys around the corner. Apart from a heart meal, men feel these are perfect places to strike up a conversation.

9. Make more female friends : The next time you walk into a party, don’t scan the room for handsome men only, but rather seek out the most social, outgoing woman you can find. Get to know her and invite her for coffee. Chances are, if you were drawn to her, she’ll have a lot of other friends—including male ones—who were drawn to the same qualities as you.

15 secrets you never knew about your girl

The woman in your life may give you her heart, soul and, of course, her body, but still there's a part of her being that she'll never share with you... stuff that makes her a mystery .

Yes, your woman is a den of mysteries hinted to you in her sly smile, enigmatic laughter or that sudden silence. She just pretends to be one, but is never an open book to you. Her deepest secrets are what add to her charm ... but render you an outsider in her own 'Secret Garden'. Secrets of her unshared yearnings, cherished fantasies or for that matter, a secret lover from the past ...

Here's a peep into those hidden secrets ... dig into them at your own risk!

- I might just hate it when you sleep in that office shirt, but when you are away, I love to snuggle up in your shirt because it smells of you.

- Though I insist on paying the bill or sharing it in our initial dates, I'll find you cheap and so non-chivalrous in case you don't insist on making the payment.

- Long before we explored each other's bodies, I had been fantasizing about being with you. That inhibition was only to get assured that you are all mine.

- I do think about my ex-es and compare them to you. Mostly you win, but you are not all perfect.

- 'I don't care you call or not' is pure pretence. In fact, I start waiting for your next call the moment one ends. Not just this, I eagerly want you to plan our next date even before the current one ends. I might not show it. So, don't fret about looking desperate just call! The gap looks like a lifetime to me.

- During the initial days of our relationship, I used to save all our chat histories and your SMSes and read them again and again. Sometimes, made my friends read them, too.

- The day you shared your password with me, digging into your chat records and mails was the first thing I did.

- I would love to know what turns you on. Though, I know it's going to be hilarious as I've seen your frequently-visited p*rn sites.

- You don't have to be a 'good boy' with me all the time. I don't mind talking a little dirty.

- You are my soul mate, but my 'best friend' is my confidante. From the size of your pay cheque, bank account to the size of your other assets...she knows it all. So, till you are telling her how much you love me all's fine. Remember she's my best friend and never yours.

- You rightly blame me for bombarding you with so many questions. But, that's my way of testing you. I judge and analyse you on every word, expression, action, e-mail or SMS you write to me or someone else. So, when I ask “Do you fantasize about other women?,” the answer has to be “Why would I when I am with you?” So, better watch out!

- I love to make you a little jealous as it makes me feel wanted. So the next time you spot me flirting with your friend, know that I'm actually flirting with you through her.

- Every time I fight with you is because I feel ignored. Don't get into your cocoon when I'm bad. Just give me what I'm fighting for – a little attention and I'll be all yours.

- I love to get constant reminders of the much known fact that – you need me. So, what's the harm in dropping liners saying 'You complete me' or 'Don't ever leave me alone' ... ?

- Last but not the least, irrespective of how independent and self-driven I am, how ever much I may say that I don't need a man to be happy, but still I want you to take charge when we are in bed.
